I love food festivals. Many moons ago we stumbled upon one near Keswick and my fixation with the amazing produce of the region was born. I actually worked for that company for a while- best job in the world, but that’s another story! Anyway…

There’s now a plethora of food festivals across the region throughout the year, including Foodies Festival at Tatton Park.  When Foodies Festival came to Tatton for the first time a few short years back (2011 I think), I had a lovely few hours mooching around the stalls and stocking up on Ginger Tom beer and great Cumbrian cheese (yes it was three years ago but I never forget a good cheese!).

Foodies mixes local producers, with the best artisans and luxe brands from across the country. I always go to festivals for the shopping but there is also the usual chef demo area. Ooh and this year they have a chocolate, bakes and preserves tent where they will be demo-ing all of the above, drinks theatre, BBQ, pop-up restaurant area and live music. So you can really make a day of it.

Plus you can take a pootle around Tatton when you’re done- they have their own excellent food shop on site and you can play spot the deer.
