Kilner is a kitchen institution- they’ve been making their glass jars and storage for 175 years, and are the go to choice for jam makers and preservers.
To get in the Christmas spirit they’ve created a pop up store in Liverpool and it is well worth a visit.
The pop up is a storage geeks heaven. For Christmas parties they’ve got drinks dispensers of all shapes and sizes. I really like the fluted ones.
Then there’s the handled jars beloved of cocktail bars across the land. From teeny weeny ones (which look adorable as tree decorations but with my cats that’s a no no) to coloured and patterned ones.
The jars continue to be classics, but even these are being updated all of the time. I love the grey-blue hue on these. They’d look beautiful on my blue granite worktops, I just need to make a bit of room.
There’s even somewhere to put the cat treats!
It’s not all storage though. There’s a range of utensils: a spiraliser, cream maker and coffee grinder to name just a few. Plus if you love butter they have the kit the make it, shape it and store it- it would make a great gift.
The Kilner pop up is residing in Rex concept store so take some time to look round there for some crazy stocking fillers.
Aside from Kilner, Rex were engraving wooden chopping boards which I loved and there’s a 1980s style grotto in the basement complete with snoozing santa!
The pop up is open until Wednesday 30th November and there are workshops on Saturday and Sunday so you can try your hand at making a freakshake (I went there- sugar rush!) Or some spiralising.
Thanks to Kilner for inviting me to your opening event, and to the guys at Bakchic and Chocolate Cellar for feeding us. Head over to Liverpool and check out the store or see their full collection online.
