This is a really short post, but I couldn’t not share this amazing find with you!
Last week I had an event at Pond in Preston. This is a lovely little restaurant on Cross Street on the edge of the city centre
Because we were upstairs at a network we weren’t eating off the normal menu but instead enjoying delicious canapés. However, I have heard a lot about their Peruvian stew so I asked the owner Andrea if we could have some too.
Pond’s Peruvian stew is manna from heaven! It’s a very spicy (spice level- nose running!) tomato-based dish but all that spice is offset by the inclusion of fruit. Yep fruit. Blackcurrants and nectarines nestled in with the chunks of tomato. Biting into the fruit some how makes sense with the chilli. One of the most tasty veggie- and in fact non-veggie- dishes I have had in ages, and I admit I made off with some leftovers in a doggie bag for the following day!
The menu at Pond is very international and very vegetarian and vegan friendly which although I am neither is really refreshing to see. They certainly pack a flavour punch, I can’t wait to get back with my husband and eat my way through the very appealing menu on offer.
