Meal Planning Monday: 30th June 2014

I’m off work this week – woo hoo. But only because I have a uni assignment to write – boo. But I’ve found that I work best at night so that leaves my days free to get jobs done and sneak in a shopping trip to Manchester one day.

We stayed pretty much on plan last week – except Friday when I was ill and could only eat cereal for tea, and Sunday when we went to a new Thai place in Manchester.

The Greek-ish chicken was a great success – I blogged the recipe here.

Vaguely Greek Chicken

You’ll see pizza on the list again this week. It’s not the third week in a row, it’s just that it keeps getting bumped. But it is happening tonight. The barley risotto was bumped from a couple of weeks back too but am determined to get it on this week!

We’re getting a new BBQ today – I am typing this waiting for the delivery man. So if the sun keeps shining one of this week’s meals may well be BBQ!

It’s my best friend’s birthday this Saturday so we’re off to Manchester for cocktails and meze at Dimitri’s – I’m already looking forward to this! So am only planning Monday to Friday meals.

  • Pizza – it’s happening today! Am using some leftover tomato vegetable sauce as the base
  • Barley risotto with feta
  • Bream in harissa – another one of Andrew’s forays into Otellengi. He is totally into Jerusalem at the mo!
  • Chicken byriani with sour cherries – a Rick Stein recipe
  • Chicken and pancetta pasta

So I will be spending my week staring at the sunshine from the kitchen table, how about you?
