Glass Act: Kilner Opens First Pop Up Store

Kilner is a kitchen institution- they’ve been making their glass jars and storage for 175 years, and are the go to choice for jam makers and preservers.

To get in the Christmas spirit they’ve created a pop up store in Liverpool and it is well worth a visit.

Lets be honest, this is why we all need Kilner jars in our lives – to infuse the booze!

We all need an apple press in our lives, don’t we?

The pop up is a storage geeks heaven. For Christmas parties they’ve got drinks dispensers of all shapes and sizes. I really like the fluted ones. Kilner pop up store Liverpool // GoodEggFoodie

Then there’s the handled jars beloved of cocktail bars across the land. From teeny weeny ones (which look adorable as tree decorations but with my cats that’s a no no) to coloured and patterned ones. Kilner pop up store Liverpool // GoodEggFoodie Kilner pop up store Liverpool // GoodEggFoodie

The jars continue to be classics, but even these are being updated all of the time. I love the grey-blue hue on these. They’d look beautiful on my blue granite worktops, I just need to make a bit of room.

**** love love love ***

There’s even somewhere to put the cat treats! Kilner pop up store Liverpool // GoodEggFoodie

It’s not all storage though. There’s a range of utensils: a spiraliser, cream maker and coffee grinder to name just a few. Plus if you love butter they have the kit the make it, shape it and store it- it would make a great gift.

Love this honey jar too

The Kilner pop up is residing in Rex concept store so take some time to look round there for some crazy stocking fillers.

Aside from Kilner, Rex were engraving wooden chopping boards which I loved and there’s a 1980s style grotto in the basement complete with snoozing santa! Kilner pop up store Liverpool // GoodEggFoodie

The pop up is open until Wednesday 30th November and there are workshops on Saturday  and Sunday so you can try your hand at making a freakshake (I went there- sugar rush!) Or some spiralising.

Freak out! Katie aka Life on Vista with her freakshake!

See if you can find the elf door downstairs in Santa’s workshop!

Thanks to Kilner for inviting me to your opening event, and to the guys at Bakchic and Chocolate Cellar for feeding us.  Head over to Liverpool and check out the store or see their full collection online.

    • Miniature things are so alluring. I bought a 1/3 pint bottle just because it’s cute! So expect to see it placed randomly in posts from now on!

    • I really like the paddles to shape your butter – I remember a very old butter maker in cumbria telling me that each butter maker had their own marks on the paddles which made it individual to them – fascinating. You could mark yours with the cake club logo!
      Thanks for stopping by xx
