The cheese grading iron in action!

Cheese tasting notes read? Check
Cholesterol checked? Check
Cheese grader procure? Urm, not quite!
It’s cheese time people!

You only need to have had a cursory glance at She-Eats to know that I love cheese, and that the International Cheese Awards are a firm part of my social calendar. Last year I was invited to judge for the first time, and I am thrilled to be back for more of the same this year.

The International Cheese Awards are the world’s biggest cheese show, with over 5,600 items entered in 2017, they are hoping that this year could be even bigger. Taking place at Nantwich showgrounds, the judging day is the precursor to a massive public event on Wednesday 25th July.

Visit The International Cheese Awards and Nantwich Show

The doors open to the public on the 25th July, giving you access to both the International Cheese Awards marquee and the Nantwich Show.

There are over 450 trade stands, a shopping and caft marquee, livestock displays, countryside pursuits and vintage cars, tractors and machinery.

  1. This promises to be another great show and a must for foodies everywhere. Apart from the cheeses (yum!) I know several other stands will have lots of interest and opportunities to widen horizons and try new tastes. I’m hoping to find the Kin knife stall and purchase another of their superb products.

  2. I am the worst cook, so my adventures with cheese don’t go any further than cheese on toast or toasties!

I like most cheeses, but I prefer milder ones such as cheddar, edam, gouda, red leicester etc.

  3. I love all cheeses, stilton being a favourite goes great with salad and steak
